Primii puieti au fost plantati la Lima, de Antonio de Rivera, in 1560. Maslinii au ajuns in California in secolul XVIII, fiind cultivati initial la Misiunea San Diego de Alcala,\u00a0in 1769 sau 1795.\u00a0In\u00a0Japonia se cresc cu succes maslini din anul 1908, pe Insula Shodo.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>Conotatiile simbolice asociate maslinelor sunt numeroase?
